search within ~ mixed media collage, 3X4 inches
I saw so many dragonflies this fall ~ at times, they even landed on me! Some were red, some blue. Dragonflies symbolize transformation, change, and are meant to encourage one to 'search within.'
Materials: This piece features a medieval image dating back to the 1500s. The reclaimed wood substrate is both rough and smooth, and surprisingly lightweight.
In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece can be hung, but it is solid wood, so it's probably better displayed on a bookshelf, mantle, or table. If you wish to hang it, adhesive strips (e.g., 3M) will likely work best. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
