those who wander ~ mixed media collage, 5X6
'Not all those who wander are lost.'
I saw this quote on a bumper sticker during a month long trip to the Maritimes. We really were wandering at that time, but we never felt lost.
Materials: 'those who wander' includes tea dyed doilies and images pulled from a used book about Monet's paintings. The missing knot at the top left makes for a unique substrate.
In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece can be hung, but it is solid wood, so it's probably better displayed on a bookshelf, mantle, or table. If you wish to hang it, adhesive strips (e.g., 3M) will likely work best. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
