peace...comfort

It seems like almost every famous person has had something to say about peace. This collage invites you to think about what brings you 'peace' and 'comfort.'

Materials: 

This collage was created with layers of pastel watercolours, with vintage text (the words peace and comfort are included), as well as sheet music. A knot in the substrate adds even more texture. The focus is a print from a botanical sketch that's over 200 years old. It's been enhanced with watercolour pencils.

In keeping with the salvaged wood substrate, the sides are unfinished, with bits of paper and paint drips visible. This piece can be hung, but it is solid wood, so it could also be displayed on a bookshelf, mantle, or table. If you wish to hang it, adhesive strips (e.g., 3M) will work or you can use a sawtooth hanger. Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
