Scraps of a vintage sewing pattern, as well as a compass rose, are layered onto a shingle from my grandfather’s barn in northern New Brunswick. It’s a very textured piece of wood, with a nail hole and a knot. This piece comes with a twine hanger, but that can be removed if you’d prefer to display it on a small easel.

Signed on the back, this piece is finished with a matte varnish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
