song of joy ~ mixed media, 6X6 inches
"If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. . .Joy is not made to be a crumb." ~ Mary Oliver
She's one of my favourite poets. So much of her work is about finding joy in the face of hardship. She believed in singing, even when singing was "not necessarily prescribed." This painting is a small tribute to Mary.
Materials: This piece includes Japanese paper, a sketch dating back hundreds of years, and marks made with watercolour pencils. It’s ready to hang as the sides are painted black.
This is an original mixed media painting on and signed on reverse. It has been sealed with a matte finish to ensure protection against fading, discolouration, and moisture. Avoid placing all artwork in direct sunlight.
